Making An Investment in SAFE
SAFE Ministries is in the process of building a new
ministry home for the men in our program who are now crammed into a not-so-large
manufactured home. We have started the process of obtaining the permits
necessary to begin construction of the new facility. However, we must pay for
everything as we go. Though we have the volunteer labor lined up to complete the
home in less than three months, we are waiting and trusting Christ for the funds
for the materials and permits.
I know of no other ministry that has more to offer
than SAFE. Our program is used in jail ministries, family ministries and
discipleship training, as well as providing the tools for freedom from
addictions. SAFE is being used to combat drug, alcohol, gambling, and food
addictions both here and in other countries.
SAFE has a bright future, but there are some things we need to do
now. And we need your help. The home for our men must be built soon.
I also feel impressed of
the Lord to try to clear the debt that we still owe on our land before year’s
end. We also must meet our general expenses. We are able to raise much of what
we need locally, through program fees, book sales, etc.
When I look at this list, I know we cannot
accomplish what needs to be done unless God steps in and touches people to come
alongside us to help. Getting SAFE on a solid financial footing is heavy on my
heart. Would you please pray about making an investment in this proven,
Christ-centered ministry? I can only trust the Holy Spirit to get this letter
into the right hands. Thank you.
Trusting
God for a miracle,

Dear Friends
We now have the
permits for the new SAFE home (no small accomplishment), we have broken ground
and hope to have the foundation in soon. We will proceed as God provides. It is
a great start, thanks to your prayers and gifts. I owe a great debt of gratitude
to those who have helped us make this wonderful start.
Maybe you have
wondered how to pray for the men in our inpatient program and the men and women
in the outpatient program. I have discovered that the secret to success in the
drug-free, productive life is not simply knowing that drugs are bad and
determining to stay off drugs. We must pray that Christ will come along side to
help transform the participants through the relationship they build with Him. It
is His strength that brings the victory. They desperately need our prayers.
I am also so
very grateful for your prayers on Jamae’s behalf. Many of you know that shortly
after the last letter, Jamae was diagnosed with cancer. She had surgery two
weeks ago, and the surgeons believe they were successful in getting it all. Her
recovery from the surgery will take time, and they will take measures to assure
the cancer doesn’t return. Thank you for interceding for her during this time.
Sincerely,
Troy Smith |
